The economic impacts of water pollution in Iraq

Abstract

Abstract The Water is one of the economic resources that Iraq have it and it's have been exposed to various aspects of pollution with low quality of water in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, especially the central and southern regions, with spread of water herbicides in the rivers and streams of irrigation canals. The importance of research through highlighting the problem of water pollution in Iraq and the economic implications that result, and drew attention to the seriousness of this topic through the presentation of the economic implications. The researcher reached by dividing the search to three axes. The first axis focuses on aspects of water pollution in Iraq, and the second section focuses on the sources of pollution and the reasons leading to. The third axis clearly shows the analysis of the economic implications of water pollution in Iraq. The research brings out a set of important conclusions and recommendations show that the pollution has became a reality in Iraqi waters and the problem worsen and leads to economic and human losses, and these numbers are not true which lead to problems in finding solutions to them. One of the most important recommendations is to focus on the impact of the internal sources of pollution, and raise awareness to preserve water resources in Iraq .As well as provide the necessary data about the material implication of water pollution in Iraq, Because it is the concerned aspect that helps solve the problem of water pollution in Iraq. المستخلص تعد المياه من الموارد الاقتصادية التي يمتلكها العراق والذي يتعرض إلى مظاهر تلوث مختلفة مع تدني نوعية المياه في نهري دجلة والفرات وخاصة المناطق الوسطى والجنوبية , مع انتشار الأدغال المائية في الأنهار ومجاري قنوات الري . تتجلى أهمية البحث بأبراز مشكلة تلوث المياه في العراق والآثار الاقتصادية المترتبة عليها ولفت النظر لخطورة هذا الموضوع من خلال عرض الآثار الاقتصادية لها . وقد توصل الباحث عن طريق تقسيمه للبحث إلى ثلاث محاور ركز محورها الأول على مظاهر تلوث المياه في العراق وفيها يركز المبحث الثاني على مصادر التلوث والأسباب المؤدية أما المحور الثالث فينطلق لتحليل الآثار الاقتصادية الناجمة عن تلوث المياه في العراق , إلى جمله من الاستنتاجات والتوصيات أهمها ان التلوث أصبح حقيقة في المياه العراقية وان المشكلة تتفاقم وتؤدي إلى خسائر اقتصادية وبشرية وان الأرقام غير دقيقة مما يؤدي إلى مشكلات في أيجاد الحلول لها , كما أن من أهم التوصيات بالتركيز على من أثار المصار الداخلية للتلوث وزيادة الوعي للمحافظة على الثروة المائية في العراق كما يتطلب ضرورة توفير البيانات الدقيقة حول الآثار المادية لتلوث المياه في العراق كونها هي الإدارة التي تساعد على حل مشكلة تلوث المياه في العراق .
